HOF’S: A history of printing

Located at the corner of Walnut and Carmen Street, in Jacksonville, Florida’s Historic Springfield district. HOF’S has been a fixture for 65 years. The building dates back to the 1920’s and has been a general store, print shop and even rumored to be a grocery store and meat shop. The name HOF’S actually comes from the original owner’s name, Hofstetter. A group of investors purchased the little shop on April 1st, 1980 (that’s no joke!). Ron McCullough was brought in as a manager with no experience as a printer, although he had more than enough experience in unprecedented service to make up for being green. Those were the days of letterpresses and lithography, tedious photography, film stripping, plate-making and slow production. HOF’S continues to focus on relationship with our customers and service. Print jobs come and go everyday but the only legacy a business can leave is how it treats customers and team members.
